Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG WINE
Valdobbiadene is the name of the finest Prosecco wine. The name is also used to refer to a grape, also known as Glera grape, utilized for the wine making process. The Glera grape is grown in Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia and other regions to the north of Montello and Colli Asolani. It is an Italian sparkling white wine that is extra dry. The chief competitor for the Prosecco is champagne.Wine making process
The Glera grapes are harvested and undergo a manual cleaning and selection process. The grapes are then fermented off the skins under soft pressure. The second fermentation procedure takes place where the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks. The method used is the Charmat method, a method that is less expensive in comparison with the others. The alcohol content, once fermentation is complete, is 11.5%, and the sugar residue is 8-9 grams per liter. The wine resulting from the entire process is dry and not as sweet as the other wines in the market. Some brands of the wine, however, have a slightly higher content.Properties and serving
The Prosecco Valdobbiadene wine has a straw yellow color with green highlights that are visible. Prosecco Valdobbiadene wine also presents an elegant aroma that is fruity in nature. On the palate, Prosecco Valdobbiadene wine is dry and assertive but has a crisp taste to it. However, the wine will be an excellent accompaniment to fish dishes and vegetable dishes since it does not have an overpowering taste. The wine is perfect for all types of meals that are delicately flavored. The Prosecco wine is best served chilled at a temperature of 6-10 degrees.
As a result of the Prosecco Valdobbiadene wine light nature, it is recommended to be taken at the end of a long day as a form of unwinding. The wine is also an excellent choice for cocktails due to the buzz it gives the one drinking it.
