Etna DOC WINES

Etna is a DOC established by decree of 27/09/11 and includes wines produced in the province of Catania area which gives the soil and climatic characteristics, different from the rest of the Region. Climate variability and soil is very relevant, so as to draw many different environments for features and conditions, however, favorable to wine production. The soils are of course mainly of volcanic origin. The vineyards mostly grow between 300 and 900 meters, but in some areas particularly suited climb as high as 1,100 m. The vines are native: the main red grape are Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, among those white grapes prevail Caricante, Cataratto and Minella.
